I remember the first time I went on a skiing trip with my grandkids. It’s something that’s hard to forget, but unfortunately the memories have nothing to do with skiing!

My son decided to take us all to this ski resort in Colorado. It was a beautiful place, and after making our reservations, we couldn’t wait to get there. My son is a good skier, but I was a bit green when it came to mobility on snow. My grandkids were also good skiers because their dad had taught them well. They were really excited to go on this vacation and had spent a lot of time getting all the gear sorted out.

When it was time to leave, we bundled into the minivan and off we went. The journey there was fine, but the weather was turning out to be pretty nasty. There was a lot of ice and the forecast for the next few days wasn’t looking good. A massive snow storm was sweeping across the area. The next few days were the strangest. Here we were, all ready to get out there on the snow, and the weather had actually made us sit indoors the whole time! The kids were a bit disappointed, but soon found ways of keeping themselves entertained. My son had to get back to work in the next three days, and for our bad luck the weather continued to be horrible through out this time. Hopefully, our next family ski trip together will have the blessings of the weather gods.
